Over the next year, Roku predicts that 100% of the streaming audience will see ads. For growth marketers in 2026, CTV will remain an important “safe space” as AI creates widespread disruption in the search and social channels. Plus, easier access to self-serve CTV ad buying tools and targeting options will lead to a surge in locally-targeted streaming campaigns.
Read our guide to find out why growth marketers should make sure CTV is part of their 2026 media mix.
Hi 👋🏻
Do you know I was an early adopter of Substack? But I found it very boring, and secondly, I thought it’s a limited-time hype, soon the hype will be over, and people will get back to normal.
But I was so wrong. Substack became the face of creators. Yes, everyone from Justin Welsh, Dan Koe, to top journalists started their newsletter on Substack.
My mistakes
I cannot call it entirely my mistake, but if you look around, there is always something new coming up, and people go crazy over it.
You can see this with Bluesky.
I thought Substack might be something similar. Some people kept insisting that I should start writing on Substack, so I did.
The problem was that I was writing in a niche I did not enjoy. That was not the platform’s fault, so I left.
After some time, I started noticing that top creators were adopting the platform.
So I re-entered, but by then it was already late. I saw people who had joined just a month ago getting 1,000+ likes on their Notes. That made me think, what is even happening?
This time, I did not repeat the same mistake by forcing myself to write there. Instead, I decided to repurpose my content.
Recently, I started my private publication, Undelivered. Without any engagement and without posting a single Note, it received 152 views in 30 days.
With Beehiiv, this is not possible because there is no built-in distribution system.
Substack, on the other hand, offers one of the best content distribution systems you can think of.

Why I am not totally bullish
Although I have started writing on Substack, I am not entirely bullish on the platform.
Substack has several problems, and the biggest one is this. It is slowly turning into another social media platform.
Apart from that,
Substack pushes readers to consume content inside the app rather than through email.
It does not allow you to export paid subscribers.
And as it becomes more social-first, it risks creating the same frustration we already feel with algorithms on other platforms.
It is still a strong bet for now.
I believe this current rush will last another five to seven months. After that, it will settle into being just another platform.
Maybe I am wrong. I actually want to be wrong, because I need more subscribers.
How to use it
Whenever you find a way to get subscribers, never let it go. So let me help you get some subscribers from Substack.
Notes
Notes work a lot like tweets. Every day, you will see people getting 1,000 + likes on their notes, backed by engagement.
One thing is very important to understand. You need to be consistent. Do not expect to go viral after posting a single note.
I suggest posting three notes per day and repurposing your tweets as notes.
Engagement
Spend at least ten minutes a day commenting on other people’s notes and replies.
More visibility leads to more profile visits, and more profile visits lead to more subscribers.
Collabs
Most people are not using collabs properly yet.
Substack has made collaboration very simple, and it exposes your newsletter to an entirely new audience with minimal effort.
Do not post everything
Substack heavily pushes app-based reading, and in the future, an algorithm will likely decide what gets visibility.
Because of that, do not publish your full newsletter on Substack.
Instead, share short excerpts and invite readers to subscribe to your main newsletter.
Automation
I also read on LinkedIn that you can use a Zapier automation to add new Substack subscribers directly to your main newsletter list.
If that works for you, set it up immediately.
Whenever you find a working distribution channel, extract as much value from it as you can.
