Insideletters helps you build a 1 person newsletter business. 3X weekly.
Hello hello,
I’ve been working a lot on my other ventures, but helping you grow your newsletter business is still at the top of my list. And it always will be.
So today, let’s talk about how you can leverage community to grow your subscribers.
Most people make the same mistake when trying to grow their audience.
They either focus only on paid ads or just write and then complain that their subscribers aren’t growing.
But the real strategy lies in building a community.
Now, when I say community, I don’t mean adding a few people to a Skool or Whop group.
Community means building an identity, becoming a people magnet so that others start following you because they love what you’re doing.
99% make this mistake when they try to grow their followers.
They either focus on only paid ads or they just write and complain that their subscribers aren’t growing.
Wheras the actual strategy should be building a community.
A community doesn’t mean you are bringing 5 other people to join you on platforms like Whop or Skool.
Community means building an identity of yours and becoming a people magnet so people start following you by loving the work you’re doing.
So let me tell you how exactly you should use community to grow your subscribers in just 5 steps.
1. Building in public
There are a lot of people on this internet says, live a private life, don’t let anyone know what you are doing and all.
When I say building in public, i don’t mean that you’ll let them know which underwear you’re wearing, i mean you’ll be sharing the insights.
People connect with people. The messy parts
The failed launches, the small wins, the lessons from your mistakes.
Let me give you my example, I shared that one of my newsletter editions flopped, it unexpectedly became one of my most replied-to emails. People appreciated the transparency because it made them feel connected and they saw themselves in me.
2. Beg for feedback
Stop talking at your audience. Talk with them.
I leverage my community in the best possible way.
If you check my Twitter now, you’ll able to see, I always share what I’m doing in my business I ask for feedback.
When you ask 5 others they feel involved in the journey.

3. Create micro community
I launched my first free cohort with 35+ people (but 9 people back off, so it was 26 at last).
And I’ve taught them everything I know, but they helped me gain popularity.
They spread the word for me.
Who is Anirban, what is Insideletter. Everything.
And new people start knowing me, talking about me.
When your audience interacts with each other, your community becomes your distribution.
4. UGC
You’re probably familiar with this term because, the moment you read it, you thought of an influencer, someone with a solid following promoting a product, right?
But it’s not limited to that.
As I mentioned, people have created content for me, for Insideletter.
That’s also user-generated content (UGC).
People trusted me, believed in the vision, and that’s why they did it for free, whereas influencers usually get paid for it.
So, I want you to create so much value that people start advocating for you, without expecting anything in return.
5. Create an unorthodox challenge
Let’s say someone is in the finance niche and helps 9–5 professionals become financially free.
She could start a challenge like, ‘Let’s make your first £1,000 by the end of this week.’
It’s likely that many people would join the challenge. All she needs to do is send the challenge prompt through her newsletter, and to get the prompt, people must subscribe to it.
You get my point?
One thing you should never forget is that social media is free leverage. Never sleep on it.
So, I hope you’re clear and ready to take action.
Just build a community of people who trust you and believe in what you do.
Let me know which strategy you’ll be using maybe I can guide you a little more.
