I study a lot of newsletter creators, each of them is are expert in something and struggles with other things.
But I admire Justin Welsh a lot for the way he balances it all.
And today, let me spill the beans on his content system so you never run out of content ideas.
What Justin does is called content repurposing. If you follow Justin closely, you will notice he posts almost the same ideas every 6, 12, 18 and 24 months.
It is not copy-paste, but small tweaks here and there. Now he uses AI a lot, so sometimes the depth feels lower, but the core ideas are still the same.
So how does he do it?
First, let us understand his topic. His niche is solopreneurship.
He helps solopreneurs build a one-person business and monetise their skills.
Now, let us look at the system he uses.
Problems of others
He has worked with many people and gets a lot of bookings from clients with portfolios of 1M and more.
When they talk to Justin, he naturally receives many content ideas because content ideas are simply the pain points of your audience.
He also started Unsubscribe, which has a community. People who join his dinner meetups share their problems with him too.
Justin has a strong network, so even his friends reach out for help. This makes finding new content ideas easy.
Justin publishes one post on LinkedIn and Instagram every day and two to three posts on Twitter.
Each post is his playground to test ideas.
For example, if he posts about why solopreneurship is better than a 9 to 5 and the audience gets divided, starts debates and engages heavily, that becomes a perfect topic for a newsletter.
Pillars
As I have taught before, the pillar strategy works for him as well. He uses the same style to ideate newsletter topics, and it is impressive. You will never see him run out of content ideas.
Join the Insideletter community where I hand hold you to build your 1 person newsletter business.
The problem of running out of content ideas is normal, you do not need to worry about that.
What you should worry about is not sending your newsletters.
Every time I send a newsletter, I earn some money, and some people appreciate my work.
So never stop sending newsletters. Content is already in front of you, and if you still cannot find it, reply to me, and we will do it together.
Cheers bud!
