Insideletters helps you build a 1 person newsletter business. 3X weekly.
Hey, I’m back from Varanasi. I didn’t want to make my journey so short, but time didn’t permit.
But anyway, I’m back with the most demanding topic ever.
We all want to monetise our newsletter, but we don’t know when to start.
So, how about we end the beautiful week by knowing when to actually plan the monetisation part?
Well, if you’re thinking that I’ll give you a checklist, then sorry to disappoint you.
The simple answer to the question is the day you start the newsletter.
It might sound awkward, Anirban, I don’t have much audience, I don’t know a lot of stuff. How do I monetise my newsletter?
Well, that’s exactly why you’re reading this newsletter.
When I say start monetising your newsletter, I don’t mean that you start putting ads in your editions. But build your newsletter around monetisation.
Because we’re here to build a business with your newsletter.
You start planning from day one, not earning from day one.
Everything changes when you think this way. You stop writing just to publish something every week and start writing with the intent of monetisation.
You have to understand your readers, what they like, what they respond to, and what they ignore.
Those small insights later become the foundation for successful monetisation.
Monetisation doesn’t suddenly happen after a certain number of editions or followers.
It happens only when your readers trust you. When people start replying to your emails, sharing your content.
That’s the ideal time, you know, they value what you’re doing.
You plan monetisation from day one, but you act on it when your readers start showing trust.
But don’t wait too long. Later, the game becomes too hard. Instead, build the system from day 1.
So the right time to start monetising your newsletter is the day you start it.
But instead of focusing on making money right away, focus on building the kind of relationship that will make monetisation easy later.
Join the Insideletter community where I hand hold you to build your 1 person newsletter business.
Monetisation isn’t a forced activity. If they are not ready for it, no matter what you do, it’ll never work. And the more pushy you become, the quicker you’ll lose subscribers.
